Dacor was a Southern California company for five decades before Samsung bought it in 2016, which is why there are more Dacor ranges and wall ovens in this state than anywhere else. Most of them are the Epicure and Renaissance generations, heavy machines with one well known weak point, the relay board that switches the oven's heat. An oven with a normal display and a cold cavity is the Dacor call. In order: a double pole breaker that has half tripped, a thermal high limit that has opened after a self clean or a blocked vent (some models have a manual reset behind the oven), then a relay board with a burned relay, a bake element, a gas oven igniter that glows but never draws enough to open the valve, or a temperature sensor so far off that the control never calls for heat. Each is a meter test, not a guess.
Cooktops and rangetops: ignition
Burners that click without lighting, light unevenly or will not stay lit come back to wet or cracked igniters, a spark module with a dead output, or a burner base that needs cleaning. Touch controls on the electric and induction cooktops occasionally stop responding.
Refrigeration and dishwashers: the Samsung era
Dacor columns and dishwashers are newer to the line and fail the way every luxury built-in does: a section running warm, an ice maker that stops, frost from a failed defrost part or gasket, drain and fill faults, door latches. Parts for these units come through the current channel and are well stocked.

What a Dacor repair costs in California.
Most Dacor oven and range repairs land between $300 and $900 for parts and labor after the diagnostic fee is applied. Igniters, elements, sensors, high limits and door hardware sit toward the lower end; relay and control boards toward the upper end. A rebuilt board for a discontinued part can carry a longer lead time and a different price, confirmed with you before ordering. Sealed system work on Dacor refrigeration typically runs between $800 and $2,200.

The Dacor warranty, plainly.
For units purchased on or after November 1, 2020, Dacor gives a full two year warranty, parts and labor, on cooking, cooling, cleaning and ventilation products. Full size refrigeration adds a six year sealed system warranty with parts and labor and a ten year sealed system warranty including the compressor, parts only, for purchases made after April 1, 2026. Cosmetic defects must be reported within 60 days. Some earlier Dacor collections were sold with a three year base term and longer compressor terms, so the paperwork that came with your unit is the final word.

What Dacor owners ask us first.
A Dacor range, wall oven or cooktop commonly runs 15 to 20 years, and the Epicure and Renaissance ranges installed in California kitchens in the late 1990s and 2000s are a regular sight on our schedule. The cast burners, the oven cavities and the frames were built for that span. What ages is a familiar list of working parts: oven igniters on gas models, bake and broil elements on electric and dual fuel, temperature sensors, convection motors, door hinges and gaskets, and the electronics that switch the heat, especially the relay boards on the older wall ovens.
Dacor refrigeration and dishwashers are newer to the line and follow the same pattern as other luxury built-ins: 15 years or more with a clean condenser and timely repairs on the fans, defrost parts and gaskets, with the sealed system as the long-term question on any unit past its first decade.

A 15 year old Dacor range is a heavy, well built machine with a fault in one of a handful of places: an oven igniter or element, a spark module or a burner igniter on the cooktop, a temperature sensor, a relay board, a door hinge. Two things can change the answer. The first is parts availability. On the wall ovens and ranges from the Epicure and Renaissance era the usual cause is the relay board, whose relays switch the elements and eventually burn or stick, followed by the oven igniter on gas models, the bake element on electric, and a temperature sensor that has drifted so the oven runs hot or cold against the display. A thermal high limit that has tripped after an overheat or a self clean cycle is another regular finding, and on some models it has a manual reset behind the oven.

Warranty work on current Dacor products runs through Samsung's network of authorized servicers, and the parts channel for units built in the Samsung era is well stocked. The second is parts for the older ranges. Most components for Dacor products built in the last 15 years remain available, but a handful of boards for the oldest Epicure and Renaissance units have been discontinued.
