Bosch Dishwasher, Laundry and Kitchen Appliance Repair in California
Bosch is the dishwasher in a great many California kitchens, and a Bosch dishwasher is honest about its faults. E24 and E25 mean it could not drain. E15 means water reached the base and the machine shut its valve. E22 is a filter that needs clearing, E09 is the heater, E17 is fill. That code is the start of the diagnosis, and the difference between a filter clean and a new pump is a technician who reads the machine before ordering the part. The compact 24 inch washers and dryers, the wall ovens and the Benchmark cooktops that share the kitchen fail in their own well documented ways.
We are an independent repair company, not Bosch and not an authorized Bosch servicer. Inside the warranty term, Bosch is the right first call. Outside it, this is our work: Bosch dishwashers, washers, dryers, ovens, cooktops, ranges and refrigerators, same day in most metros, one flat diagnostic fee, the full price in writing before any work. Thermador, the luxury line from the same parent, has its own page.

Where Bosch appliances fail.
Dishwashers: the drain path and the base
E24 and E25 are the drain side: a filter that has not been cleaned, a sump with a piece of glass in it, a drain hose kinked behind the machine or clogged at the air gap, a disposal with its knockout plug still in, a stuck check valve, or the drain pump itself, which on many Bosch models is reached from the front and is a single visit part. E15 is the AquaStop float in the base, which trips when a leak, a foamed detergent or a spray arm throwing water at the door puts water where the sensor is. E09 is the heater, E22 the filter, E17 the inlet. The Ascenta, 100, 300, 500, 800 and Benchmark series all speak the same language.
Compact washers and dryers
The 24 inch Bosch washers fail on the drain pump, the door lock, the inlet valve and, on older machines, the bearings and the carbon brushes. E17 and E18 point at the door and the drain. The condensation and heat pump dryers that pair with them collect lint beyond the filter, run long, and lose the condenser pump, the heater or a thermistor. Both are repairable, and because the pair lives in a closet, both are worth repairing.
Ovens, cooktops and refrigerators
Bosch wall ovens and ranges fail on elements, temperature sensors, door locks and the touch control; the gas models on igniters and spark modules. Cooktops fail on touch controls, radiant elements and, on the induction Benchmark units, a power board or a fan. The counter-depth French door and bottom freezer refrigerators fail on the defrost system, the fans, the ice maker and the sealed system, the same as any built-in-style unit.

Which Bosch appliance is it?
Each service page carries the symptoms, the usual causes, the typical price range and whether the repair is worth it.
What a Bosch repair costs in California.
A typical Bosch dishwasher repair, such as a drain pump, a heater, an inlet valve, a door latch, an AquaStop float or a control module, lands between $150 and $400 for parts and labor after the diagnostic fee is applied. A washer repair such as a drain pump, a door lock or an inlet valve runs between $160 and $450; a dryer repair between $140 and $380; an oven, range or cooktop repair between $160 and $480; a refrigerator repair between $180 and $480. Sealed system work on a Bosch refrigerator runs between $800 and $2,200.
Genuine Bosch parts cost a little more than the mass-market average, and the machines justify them. The diagnostic visit is $89, credited to the repair when the work goes ahead. You get the complete price in writing before any work starts, there is no hourly rate, and a return visit to fit an ordered part is inside the quote.
The Bosch warranty, plainly.
Most Bosch home appliances sold in the US carry one year of parts and labor from the date of purchase. Bosch dishwashers add longer limited coverage on specific components on many models, such as the racks, the electronics and the stainless steel tub against rust-through, in the years after the first; that coverage is parts only unless your paperwork says otherwise. The warranty statement for your model number on the Bosch site is the final word.
Inside the term, call Bosch and use it. Outside it, call (888) 482-7007. We are independent, we fit genuine Bosch parts, and we tell you when a failed part is one Bosch would still cover before we quote it.
What Bosch owners ask us first.
Both codes mean the dishwasher could not drain in the time it expected, and the difference between them is where in the drain path the machine thinks the problem is. E24 is the general drain fault. E25 points more specifically at the drain pump, its cover or the impeller area. In practice a technician treats them the same way, starting from the tub and working out.
First the filter in the floor of the tub, which lifts out and often has not been cleaned in months, and the sump beneath it, where glass, a pit or a label stops the water. Then the drain pump cover, a small cap at the bottom of the sump that unlocks a quarter turn and exposes the impeller; a piece of glass jammed there produces E25 on many models. Then the drain hose under the sink, which kinks behind the machine and clogs where it meets the disposal or the air gap, and a disposal installed recently that still has its knockout plug in place. Then the check valve, which can stick.
If all of that is clear and the pump hums or is silent, the drain pump itself has failed, and on most Bosch series it is a part reached from the front and fitted in one visit. A Bosch that also shows E15 has water in its base and a different problem: turn off the supply and call. Genuine Bosch parts cost a little more than the mass-market average and the machines earn them, so a Bosch repair sits toward the upper end of the ordinary range and well below luxury pricing. A drain pump, a heater, an inlet valve, a door latch, an AquaStop float or a control module on a Bosch dishwasher lands between $150 and $400 for parts and labor after the diagnostic fee is applied, and clearing a sump or a pump cover with no part needed is at the bottom of that range. A drain pump, a door lock, an inlet valve or a set of brushes on a compact Bosch washer runs between $160 and $450; a condenser pump, a heater or a thermistor on a Bosch dryer between $140 and $380; an element, a sensor, a door lock, a spark module or a touch control on an oven, range or cooktop between $160 and $480; a fan, a defrost part or a board on a counter-depth refrigerator between $180 and $480.
The job above those ranges is the sealed system on a Bosch refrigerator, between $800 and $2,200, and we say honestly whether the unit is worth it. An induction power board on a Benchmark cooktop sits at the top of the oven range.
Every visit begins with a $89 diagnostic, credited toward the repair when you go ahead. The complete price is in writing before any work, there is no hourly rate, and a return trip to fit an ordered part is inside the quote.
Yes, in more cases than for almost any other dishwasher, because a Bosch is built to be serviced and the parts that fail are modest against what the machine cost. A drain pump, a circulation pump, a heater, an inlet valve, an AquaStop float, a door latch or a control module on a Bosch under ten years old is a repair without much debate, and the stainless tub, the racks and the door that would make a lesser machine not worth keeping are the parts that do not fail on a Bosch. A fully integrated or panel-ready Bosch is worth even more repair, because replacing one means matching a panel and a cabinet opening and paying an installer.
The cases that favor replacement are narrow. A control module that is no longer made for an older series, and Bosch keeps parts for a long time, so that is rare. A machine with several faults at once, which on California water usually means years of hard water without the built-in softener having been kept in salt have scaled the heater, the valve and the pump together. Corrosion in the base from a long unnoticed leak. And, occasionally, a circulation pump and a heater failing together on a budget Ascenta past twelve years.
We look at the whole dishwasher on the diagnostic and put the repair price and a plain recommendation in writing before you spend anything past the fee. Call (888) 482-7007 with the code on the display and the model number from the door frame.
Yes. The dishwasher is the Bosch appliance most California homes own, but the compact 24 inch washers and dryers, the wall ovens, the ranges, the cooktops and the counter-depth refrigerators are all part of what we service, and the laundry pair in particular is worth knowing about. Bosch washers fail on the drain pump, the door lock, the inlet valve and, on older machines, the carbon brushes and the bearings, and they report E17 and E18 for the door and the drain. The condensation and heat pump dryers that pair with them collect lint beyond the filter, run long, and lose the condenser pump, the heater and the thermistors. Because the pair usually lives in a closet or a stacked installation, repairing them is nearly always the better number.
The ovens and cooktops fail the way European ovens do: on elements, temperature sensors, door locks, hinges and the touch control, on igniters and spark modules on the gas models, and on a power board or a cooling fan on the induction Benchmark cooktops. The refrigerators fail on the defrost system, the fans, the ice maker and, less often, the sealed system.
Thermador and Gaggenau, the luxury lines from the same parent company, share some platforms with Bosch but carry their own parts and warranty terms; Thermador has its own page on this site. Whatever the Bosch appliance, the process is the same: a flat diagnostic fee, the full price in writing first, and the fee credited when the work goes ahead. Call (888) 482-7007 with the model number from the label.

Bosch showing E24, E25 or E15?
Read us the code and the model number from the label on the door frame. For E15, turn off the water supply under the sink first. Drain pumps, heaters, floats, valves and latches for the common series ride on the truck, and most Bosch dishwasher calls are one visit. Call (888) 482-7007, every day from 6am until midnight.
